Teacher Training: Teach About US

Get Involved! Reaching Young People Through Innovative Teaching and Learning About Sustainability

Prof. Connie Roser-Renouf, Center for Climate Change, George Mason University

Joannis Kaliampos, Research Assistant and PhD candidate, Leuphana University Lüneburg

While the administration has moved in one direction on climate, public opinion has moved in the other. There is now more support for action in the U.S. than at any time since 2008. In the first part, Connie Roser-Renouf will talk about public opinion and responses to the administration's actions on climate and the environment at several levels (states, cities, green groups). The second part will focus on Teach About US, an intercultural blended-learning platform. Teachers and students on both sides of the Atlantic explore new ways of learning English and to 'go green' together. The Teach About US team will explain how teachers from grades 5 – 13 can bring this intercultural project to their classrooms. We especially encourage partnerships between EFL and STEM/MINT courses.

Teach About US is a partnership between the U.S. Embassy in Berlin, Leuphana University Lüneburg, and LIFE e.V.
