Deutschlandjahr: Nuremberg Youth Group in Atlanta

Key Club Nuremberg engages in bi-national exchange to foster German-American relations.

DATE: October 24 to November 03
LOCATION: Atlanta, Georgia

2018 marks the 20th anniversary of the sisterhood between Atlanta and Nuremberg. To extend the cultural exchange to the American youth twelve teenagers travel to Atlanta in the spirit of #WunderbarTogether. The youth club’s mission for the trip to Atlanta is to strengthen international relationships with the United States and broaden our cultural horizons. Not only by interacting with American students, but also by raising awareness for human rights, diversity, and the importance of reliable news for transatlantic relations.

Highlights of this trip, among many, are for example: an official reception by the mayor’s office, a meeting with the Goethe Institute Atlanta, a welcome from the German consul, a studio tour of CNN, as well as college and high school visits.

The Key Club’s experiences abroad can be followed on Instagram (https://www.instagram.com/dainuernberg/). The ‚Peer to Peer‘ program is co-organized with the Amt für Internationale Beziehungen der Stadt Nürnberg. (https://www.nuernberg.de/internet/international/)
